Music hides when we are not looking for it. There are very many found melodies in these pieces, a gift from trees, wind, machines and people. A fluttering piece of music we could easily miss. We just need to catch it.
Making these pieces was a challenging dynamic between making and listening. The challenge of being able to say "stop" within the creative process, or in some cases to be able to take a step back. Reduction, sometimes destruction, before creation. When we stumble upon something valuable, we don't dig any further. We dust it off, frame it and we don't touch it again.

BEST AMBIENT OF 2022 - LOW LIGHT MIXES
"Slow Dance on Moss Beds is – as the title might even imply – a slow burner. ‘t Geruis’s music is suggestive, it communicates on a deeper, subconscious level. Perhaps that’s why it takes a few listenings to get a feel for the album, to reach that deep level to fully appreciate the beauty of these compositions. The time it takes is worth it." - (Marthe Lisson) THE QUIETUS
"A grainy, organic quality to the loops which build and collapse in a still-life manner... the music has more in common with graphic art or experimental film than it does with cold, staid experimental music" (Rudy Carrera) MUSIC YOU NEED TO HEAR
"Slow Dance on Moss Beds contains sounds that you can see and almost taste. Here 't Geruis translates transience, loneliness and desolation into a soft and mossy sound package of dark beauty." (translated from Dutch) - (Patsker Omaer Beguin) LUMINOUS DASH
"‘t Geruis déroule des sonorités vaporeuses et granuleuses qui se répétant à travers des motifs lents et atmosphériques qui peuvent évoquer des ambiances de films d’horreur, de cinéma expressionniste en noir et blanc, de maisons abandonnées, de lieux hantés, avec tout au long du disque un ensemble de sonorités et de mélodies qui entretiennent un sentiment de mystère et d’inquiétude." - POSSIBLE MUSICS
"Most striking are the melodies that are uncovered from beneath the moss beds. Deceptively simple sometimes, but effective. Once you hear them you’ll probably hum them all day" - AMBIENTBLOG
"Unfolds with almost limitless patience, as if operating to timescales of a magnitude entirely different to our own" - (Liam Dole) VARIOUS SMALL FLAMES
"Slow Dance… feels somehow bolder than Various Thoughts and Places, it definitely moves beyond the repetition, and it explores melody in a non repetitive manner... t’Geruis really does have his own unique approach, and his refusal to rest on his laurels and continue to experiment is not just reassuring but inspiring." - (Bob Baker Fish) CYCLIC DEFROST
"Everything has a charm tied to the past, like ghosts and memories that remain in the present." - (Valerio D'Onofrio) ONDAROCK
"It’s like spending an hour in a remote forest, unmoving, its sights and sounds just washing over you, and whether that makes you feel at peace or on edge is entirely up to your own interpretation and emotional state. This sense of guided ambiguity makes Slow Dancing on Moss Beds such a rewarding and perplexing record" - (Dominik Böhmer) EVERYTHING IS NOISE
"A gratifying record, an inexorable force, aware and sensitive, that flows incessantly, but not without compassion, to be preserved in the moments when you feel the need to delve into the territories without emotional borders." - (Luca Bellan) IMPATTO SONORO
"In its simplicity ‘t Geruis stays on a microscopic scale with their ambient. The peaceful yet wobbly loops make for a demanding yet haunting work." - QUAI DU COMMERCE
"Without exception mesmerizing and of a natural beauty. And if you slip, you land softly." - (Jan Willem Broek) DE SUBJECTIVISTEN
